NEW CHEVY IMPALA SS PRICED AT $22,495 - 'LOADED'

The slinky black-on-black Chevrolet Impala SS that rolls off
the GM assembly line here today will be priced at $22,495,
including destination charge and an encyclopedic list of standard
equipment, Chevrolet announced.
The first Impala SS since 1969 and the first four-door Impala
SS ever, features a 260-horsepower version of the Corvette LT1
engine, driver and passenger airbags, four-wheel antilock disc
brakes, GM's 4L60-E four-speed electronically controlled
automatic transmission, 17 x 8.5-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels,
P-255/50ZR17 speed-rated tires and GM's Pass-key theft-deterrent
system.
Also included as standard equipment are air conditioning,
AM/FM Stereo Cassette radio, special ride and handling suspension
with de Carbon gas performance shock absorbers, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, 45/45 leather seats with full console, power
driver's seat, driver and passenger seat recliners, power
windows, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, front and rear
reading lamps and power trunk opener.
The only major options are rear-window defogger, engine block
heater and a compact disc player. For 1994, the Impala SS comes
only in black. Production will be limited to about 5,000 units.
