GM PRICES CHEVROLET IMPALA SS AT $ 22,495 (Reuters 2/23/94)

   General Motors Corp's Chevrolet Motor Division said its new

1994 Impala SS sedan will carry a base price of $ 22,495 and will

be equipped with a full compliment of luxury features. 



   The car is a modified version of the Chevrolet Caprice, with a

260-horsepower V8 engine, a high-performance suspension and

standard luxury features such as leather seats. The only major

options are a compact disc player, a rear window defogger and an

engine block heater.



   GM will build only 5,000 Impala SS models for the 1994 model

year. Production began today at GM's assembly plant here.
